Ethical Sourcing of promotional merchandise is becoming an increasingly important concern for companies wishing to protect and enhance their reputation. Not only is it damaging to be associated with goods produced under questionable conditions for workers, but also, by purchasing only from factories which adopt good working practices it will have the effect of improving third world conditions generally.

At Arcadia we are committed to sourcing ethically and to this end we have just become a member of Sedex, an organisation set up to monitor suppliers and their working practices. The process of adopting the Sedex system involves all our Asian suppliers completing a comprehensive self assessment in the categories: Business Integrity, Environmental, Health & Safety and Labour Standards. The factory is then audited each year to confirm the self assessment and to monitor on-going improvements in standards. Analysing all the information built up, the Sedex system calculates an Ethical Risk Assessment. Based on this we can make informed decisions on behalf of our clients on suitable suppliers to use for each promotion. |
Customers who are themselves members of Sedex can have access to all the supplier information and audit detail which is available to us.
